Shipping & Returns

All items are sold with the full backing of the manufacturers warranty. We are Authorized Dealers for every item we sell. 

If your item is defective in any mechanical way due to a manufacturing issue, you have the option of returning it to the manufacturer for repair/replacement or returning it back to us for an exchange or store credit. Every item that we sell is brand new, never out of the box. At times, a manufacturer may forget to include a small spare parts bag with some items. If you feel there is a small parts bag missing, that must be taken up with the respective manufacturer who in most cases will ship out a replacement bag if one should have been included originally. A simple missing spare parts bag is not reason for return or credit. Refunds are issued only for items that are still brand new and have not been operated/run or used in any way. Any item returned must be sent back to us within 14 days of receipt and must include all original packing material, manuals and warranty cards. Any items returned after 14 days of original receipt will not be accepted. Train Sets, slot car sets, any holiday themed items as well as R/C items (cars/trucks/airplanes, helicopters) cannot be returned to us for any reason, if there is a problem with any of these types of items, you must go thru the manufacturers warranty program for repair/replacement. We do not accept returns of  train sets, slot car sets, holiday themed items or R/C items due to the delicate nature of the items and the associated rough handling that most endure while being played with. Any train sets, slot car sets, holiday themed items or R/C items are shipped factory sealed. In the event that a part inside is missing or damaged, you (the buyer) MUST contact the manufacturer regarding the part. Shipping and handling charges are not refundable. Customer is responsible for all costs associated with shipping any item back to Silver City Hobby. 
   Pre-order sales that are cancelled at the request of the customer after payment has been made but before the item has shipped are subject to a 15% cancellation fee. Pre-order sales are made based on the understanding that the pre-ordered item will be shipped as soon as the manufacturer ships the items to dealers. We cannot and will not be responsible for any delays on pre-order items as these delays are caused by the manufacturers and are beyond our control. Silver City Hobby pays a fee to the web-hosting company for every sale made on this site. Full refunds can only be issued on pre-ordered items within 30 days of the original sale. Manufacturers do at times change the delivery dates, that fact is outside of our control. Also, sales that are paid for and then subsequently the buyer requests to cancel the order are subject to a 15% fee of the total price.

We can ship to virtually any address in the world. Note that there are restrictions on some products, and some products cannot be shipped to international destinations.

When you place an order, we will estimate shipping and delivery dates for you based on the availability of your items and the shipping options you choose. Depending on the shipping provider you choose, shipping date estimates may appear on the shipping quotes page.

Please also note that the shipping rates for many items we sell are weight-based. The weight of any such item can be found on its detail page. To reflect the policies of the shipping companies we use, all weights will be rounded up to the next full pound.



INTERNATIONAL SHIPMENTS will be billed/charged seperately for any and all shipping (an insurance costs) associated with shipping the items to the buyers address outside of the USA. The free shipping special off that we advertise is valid ONLY within the USA. It may take from 2 to 5 days before we contact international buyers and advise them of the shipping cost. International shipping is done via USPS Priority Mail unless other arrangements have been made thru us in advance. Once we have a final shipping amount due from you, we will send an email invoice that is payable upon receipt. International purchases will not be shipped until the shipping fees have been paid for by the buyer. The shipping costs are based on the weight of the item as well as the size of the shipping carton and are based on USPS rates.

SILVER CITY HOBBY is not and will not be responsible for any additional charges, tariffs, import taxes, courier fees or any other charges levied by other countries or entities. These charges, by law are the buyers responsibilty. The customer, by placing an order with us, assumes all responsibility for any and all of the previously mentioned fees. Customer refusal of any package does not absolve the customer of the cost of transport of the order back to Silver City Hobby. The original international shipping fee is not refundable. Any international shipment returned to us as unclaimed will have a 25% re-stocking fee assessed before any funds are credited.
